It's no secret that Emmy nominated actress Kerry Washington is not afraid to tackle some pretty tough roles.

Every Thursday, Washington stars in the ABC hit drama show Scandal where she plays a Washington D.C. Crisis Manager, and now it looks like she will be gracing the big screen in the very near future.

Season 4 of Scandal made its debut in September, and it's recently been confirmed that Washington will also be gladiating in a Warner Bros. thriller directed by Amma Asante.

According to Variety, the new film Unforgettable centers on a man whose new wife is threatened by his ex wife. Washington, who plays the new wife, will star along side Kate Hudson, who plays the ex.

It is believed that the film is still in the very early stages and all parties are trying to work out deals for all who are involved.

Washington isn't a stranger to acting on the big screen. She has also starred in films like Ray, The Last King Of Scotland, and Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained.

A rep for Washington has yet to make a statement regarding this matters.

Fans probably can't wait to see Washington in the new film, and they also can't wait for the second half of season 4 of Scandal to return in January.

Viewers can watch Scandal every Thursday night at 9 p.m. on ABC.
