The first season of The Affair was filled with drama in every single episode and the finale left fans with a major cliffhanger.

10 Things Noah & Alison Taught Us About Love During Season 1

It will be hard for fans to wait for the second season to find out what happens with Noah's arrest, his estranged family and the Lockharts. In the meantime, creator Sarah Treem teased a few future narratives and said that the truth will be revealed.

"In my mind, in terms of what the truth of the crime itself is at the end, I think we need to and we are going to see that and understand what happened there objectively," she told E! Online. "In instances like that, where there is crime or something, where it's not basically the emotional interaction between two people...that to me is the one moment where I actually want to know the truth."

She continued, "That's the moment I'm pretty sure we will see objectively, but I think the way that we get there is going to be a bit of a puzzle, so when the audience arrives at it, they will discover it for themselves."

The next season will also show Detective Jeffries searching for answers since his evidence against Noah isn't conclusive, even though he had him arrested.

"Season two in the past will pick up very quickly after season one ends," Treem said. "We have more to go in terms of the story before the past catches up to the present."

Although the first season was only in the point of view of Noah and Alison, next season may include some more perspectives.

"I hope we'll be seeing Helen and Cole's [narratives]," the creator said. "It's all still very much theoretical, but that's the idea in my head at this point."

The second season of The Affair is expected sometime in 2015 on Showtime.
