Recently off his acquittal on June 18 of federal charges that he lied to Congress about using steroids, Roger Clemens is making a comeback. The 50-year-old baseball player will reportedly ink a contract on Friday with the Sugar Land (Texas) Skeeters franchise in the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.

Randy Hendricks, who is one of the star's agents, confirmed that the legendary pitcher will be making his debut for the team this upcoming Saturday, Aug. 25, according to USA Today.

"It is at this point a fun, local, one time kind of thing. If he does well, he will probably make at least one more home start," Hendricks stated. "He threw 87 mph today with four pitches working, so he looks good to go at this point. The hitters will let us know on Saturday night."

Clemens is still said to have great talent, however, it is unclear if The Rocket has true intentions to make a legitimate comeback or if this is just a one-time publicity stunt for the Skeeters organization.

The legendary pitcher has not pitched in a professional competition since Game 3 of the American League Championship Series in 2007. If Clemens works his way back to the Major League level, it would take away his eligibility to be on the ballot this December for the Hall of Fame.
