Detective Gordon (Ben McKenzie) will have a lot on his plate at his new job in Arkham Asylum when Fox's Gotham returns for the second half of the season.

With Gordon being reassigned to work at the dreaded mental institution in the winter finale, he will be adjusting rather poorly to the transition. Plot synopses for the next two episodes of Gotham have been released recently, for the episode 11, Rogues' Gallery and episode 12, What the Little Bird Told Him.

"Det. Gordon's assignment at Arkham Asylum gets off to a rocky start when the murder of a guard ignites an investigation, leading him to meet Dr. Leslie Thompkins (guest star Morena Baccarin, Homeland)," the synopsis for Rogues' Gallery reads. "Meanwhile, Cobblepot [Robin Lord Taylor] continues to build his army."

Next up, Gordon will be tasked with finding an "electrical genius" who somehow managed to break free of Arkham.

"In an attempt to get his job back, Gordon seeks to capture Jack Gruber (guest star Christopher Heyerdahl), a deranged electrical genius who escapes Arkham Asylum," the synopsis for What the Little Bird Told Him reads. "Meanwhile, Falcone [John Doman] struggles to hold onto his empire after Fish Mooney [Jada Pinkett Smith] makes her next move."

It remains to be seen if Gordon will at any point team up with Bullock (Donal Logue) again.

Gotham returns for the second half of its season on Monday, Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
