NBC hit show Law and Order: SVU returns in two days with a mid-season opener that will likely leave fans shocked.

The SVU mid season opener is unlike any other episodes fans have seen, and viewers will definitely been floored within the first few minutes.

Episode ten, entitled "Forgiving Rollins" will gives fans a view into Detective Rollins's past and she is forced to relive a traumatizing experience.

Executive producer Warren Light has shared a promo video as well as other surprise photos that give fans a little insight into what the episode will be about.

Rollins's former Atlanta Captain Charles Patton is on trial for rape, and Detective Rollins could be the only piece of evidence that ties the man to the crime.

Viewers quickly learn that Patton, the same man on trial for raping another woman, raped Rollins and unfortunately she has to testify in order to get justice for the other woman as well as for herself.

Law and Order: SVU returns from hiatus on Wednesday Jan. 7 at 9 p.m. on NBC. This mid-season opener is definitely not one to be missed.
