Tim McGraw likes to play country music.
With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Tim McGraw never gets bored with the life he has chosen. In fact, he went out on top in 2014 with his latest album, Sundown Heaven Town.
"It's a good way to end the year," the singer told Rolling Stone on Tuesday of the single Shotgun Rider hitting no. 1.
"It's always been one of my favorites since I finished the album," he added, "And it was one of my wife's favorites from the very beginning."
McGraw also discussed Meanwhile Back At Mama's, the duet between him and wife Faith Hill. The single scored a lot of attention this year and it seems McGraw was just as excited to share it as people have been to listen to it.
"I couldn't wait to get back home and play it for Faith," said McGraw as he recalled how he'd come up with the song. He knew he wanted to record it with his wife and was thrilled when she said she'd do it.
"It's good to be married to one of the best singers in the world," he declared.
As for what lies ahead, McGraw is looking forward to the ride. "I feel like I have a lot left," he insisted. "I feel like I am a learning, growing artist that still wants to get better. And I want to prove that to myself."
"The minute I feel like I have done all I can do and don't have anymore," he said, "I probably shouldn't do it anymore."
Married for 18 years, McGraw and Hill continue to raise their three daughters quietly in the countryside.
