The Originals may be saying goodbye to its beloved "Jaiden" romance before it even really started.

On Tuesday TVLine released two new photos sure to have fans worried.

The first image shows an injured werewolf Aiden (Colin Woodell) surrounded by what appear to be half a dozen vampires. He doesn't look happy. In fact, he looks a bit terrified.

The next picture shows Klaus (Joseph Morgan), surrounded by other vampires, holding back Josh (Steven Krueger) in what appears to be the same location.

Josh had initially been written as a spare character for the series, but survived into season 2 after becoming a favorite among fans and the show's own writers. He was given his own romantic storyline during the first half of the second season, though it hasn't been easy for the vampire and werewolf to be together.

For the time being Josh has sided with Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and Klaus, though his loyalties could shift if something were to happen to his boyfriend. Josh's best friend Davila (Danielle Campbell) has been on a warpath to kill Klaus all season and if the hybrid has anything to do with the trouble Aiden's in, then Josh would likely join her in pursuing Klaus' demise.

The Originals returns on The CW for the remainder of its second season Monday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
