Hank starts off by revealing that he has a case of Asperger’s Syndrome, a type of autism. Zeek, who wasn’t aware of Hank’s condition, says he’s fine with it as long as Sarah is. He then explains just how much his daughter means to him.

“Sarah, of all my kids, I think she’s kind of been my teacher. She’s the one that, in life, has taught me more about unconditional love. She never went after the material things in life,” Zeek says. “She was all about love. She was all about really giving her heart to the people that she cared about the most.”

Trying to hold back his tears, Zeek adds, “You take care of my daughter. You be there for her.”

Hank replies: “That’s going to be my honor to do that.”

The series finale of Parenthood airs on Thursday, January 29 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
