Fashion's Night Out has returned this year with over 4,500 events around the country. The fourth annual event has gone global with eighteen countries participating this year.

The idea for FNO started back in September 2009 by Vogue magazine Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour to help boost the retail economy following the recession in 2008. It started with 300 stores in New York City from downtown Soho area to uptown in Harlem.

The fourth annual event runs from 6pm-10pm. Retail stores, small and large, will stay open later than usual to offer freebies, discounts, opportunities to win free prizes, contests, cocktails, free haircuts, make-up applications and free performances to promote shopping at their store.

In new York City alone, 80's rocker Cyndi Lauper will perform for the well-heeled crowd at shoe designer Manolo Blahnik's boutique  and rapper Azalea Banks will perform at the MAC Cosmetics store to push her limited-edition lipstick. Other celebrities expected to participate around the country include celebrity stylist/Bravo star Rachel Zoe, models Kate Upton and Alessandra Ambrosio; "Twilight" star Nikki Reed and a host of "Housewives" reality stars in New York City. Actress Ali Larter will be available at several locations in Chicago and "Keeping up with the Kardashians" star Kendall Jenner will host at her sisters' DASH boutique in West Hollywood.
