The grim reaper will pay a visit to Abbot's (Rockmond Dunbar) FBI team as season 7 draws to a close, and an agent's death may solidify Patrick Jane's (Simon Baker) notion that the crime fighting is no longer his calling.

Pulled into a world of murder and mayhem courtesy of Red John, the Mentalist could apparently do without the fear he feels watching Lisbon (Robin Tunney) walk into the line of fire day after day.

"I can't do this anymore," Jane tells Lisbon in a new promo. "That could have been you in that coffin."

Luckily, Lisbon will live to see another day, although seeing a comrade fall may not be enough to pull the career detective away from her job. Unluckily for Agent Vega (Josie Loren), it looks like she may soon find herself six-feet under.

Neither Loren nor CBS has confirmed Vega's exit form the series, but the actress did appear to spend a lot of time away from set near the end of filming. Her apparent absence during shooting for "Byzantium," "Brown Shag Carpet," and "White Orchids" makes it highly unlikely that Vega will star in the series' final three episodes.
