As the search for Beckett (Stana Katic) begins on ABC's Castle, she will be dealing with some questions about her future.

'Castle' Star Tamala Jones Says Two-Part February Event Is 'Completely Outrageous'

The latest episode of Castle ended with a cliffhanger involving Beckett being injected with a needle and taken away - with evidence leading to Dr. Kelly Nieman (Annie Wersching) being connected. Ultimately, this entire kidnapping is a revenge fantasy that Jerry Tyson (Micahel Mosley) is plotting on Castle, as show runner David Amann spoke about with Entertainment Weekly.

"We look at this as the culmination of Jerry Tyson's fantasy revenge against Castle - now he has Castle's wife and she could not be in worse hands," he said. "So obviously moving forward into the next episode, everybody's going to be deeply concerned and committed to trying to find Beckett and get her back before something terrible happens."

But as Castle is concerned about Beckett, she is in a place where she is uncertain about her future.

"The question of children figures into that, career questions figure into that, because after all, she has resolved her mother's murder, she's gotten married to Castle - things are in a pretty stable and good place for her," Amann explained. "But I think that she's wondering what the next step is for her, what is she going to be doing moving forward, and the question of children is of course going to enter into that equation."

Obviously Beckett will be okay going forward, since she is present in the synopsis for the next episode following this arc, so it will be interesting to see how this impacts her. Are we looking at a Castle and Beckett baby sooner rather than later?

Castle airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
