Movie star Jennifer Garner had a lot to say in her recent interview regarding how she grew up away from the spotlight.

The actress and wife of Ben Affleck spoke with Southern Living in the March 2015 issue where she mentioned that she wants her children to have the same values she had growing up in West Virginia. Mother to Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 2, Garner wants her kids to be able to see the beauty that lies in front of them.

"It's really important for my kids to see that everyone doesn't have the lives they see in Los Angeles," the actress told the magazine. "That doesn't reflect the rest of the world. I want them to grow up with the Southern values I had- to look at people when they say hello and to stop and smell the roses. If I could do half as good a job as my mom did, I'd be pretty happy."

Garner may be one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, but her life didn't always consist of glamour and stardom. She always managed to stay busy though no matter what kind of job she had.

"I always had a job," she actress said. "In high school, I worked at a men's clothing shop and babysat. In college, I worked at a summer stock theater for free, building sets and cleaning toilets."
