Pretty Little Liars fans may not have to say goodbye to the Rosewood crew following season 7.

Liars star Lucy Hale previously confirmed season 7 as the series' last but series creator Marlene King recently stated otherwise.

"You never know," King replied when questioned about an eighth season. "But it won't be 'this story.'"

When King says "this story," it is safe to presume that the showrunner is referring to the 'A' mystery. With Uber 'A' set for a pre-season 7 reveal, it looks like the ABC Family drama will use its allegedly final run to put the kibosh on the enigmatic killer.

"I think fans got a little worried when they found out that we were going seven seasons, because they thought maybe they're going to have to wait that long to find out who 'A' is, but I am promising you that you don't," King reassured views during the 2014 Halloween special. "The identity of Big 'A' is going to be revealed before season seven starts."

So, it season 8 were to come to fruition, what would it entail? There's always the chance that a new baddie could come to light - meaning the Liars will be plagued by murder well past their teen years - or, perhaps, viewers will get a chance to see Hanna, Aria, Emily, and Spencer settling down into a more normal life.
