In a recent interview, Arrow showrunner Andrew Kreisberg dished about how Oliver (Stephen Amell) might respond to Ra's al Ghul's (Matt Nable) offer.

While talking about Oliver's quandary to TVLine Kreisberg ended up revealing the Ra's al Ghul was not really "asking" Oliver, suggesting that he might not really have a choice. In the interview, Kreisberg also addresses Ra's surprising turn from "giant, malevolent force" who near-killed Oliver to offering him "the keys to the kingdom."

"Oliver is completely - as hopefully the audience is - taken aback, 'cause he was not expecting" this, Kreisberg stated. "It was something that [executive producer] Greg [Berlanti] and Marc and I talked about: It was important to have a different villain this year and somebody who is going to be doing something completely different."

Ra's Al Ghul Could Die In Season 3 Of Arrow

Kreisberg went on to state that the "next run of episodes" will mostly deal with Oliver making up his mind and deciding on a course of action.

But the executive producer offered the most juicy bit by revealing that actually it's not like Oliver had much of a say in the matter, and Ra's al Ghul was not really giving him an option. He revealed that the League is "a different kind of threat, because they're asking him to join up. [But] as Malcolm tells him in a subsequent episode, [Ra's is] not really asking."

This could mean that turning Ra's al Ghul's offer down might cost Oliver his life, and the only way to reject the offer would be to fight Ra's again.

The Offer will air on March 18.
