It's no secret Fox's newest show Empire is one of the biggest shows of the year; rumor has it media mogul Sean "P. Diddy" Combs wants a piece of the pie.

According to All Hip Hop Monday, Diddy believes that the show is too close to his actual life and is suing the network. The show tells the story of a hip hop legend, Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard), who owns a huge record label.

Lucious was raised in a drug infested neighborhood and even used $400,000 in drug money to launch the company. His ex-wife Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) was released from jail in the first episode. She served 17 years after she covered for Lucious in a major drug bust.

The exes have three boys together who are also very involved in the company. Two are artists signed to the label while the oldest acts as CFO. Lies, deceit, murder and sex is also a huge part of the hip hop drama.

While Diddy's lawsuit hasn't been confirmed yet, if true he might not have much of a case. The co-creator of the show Danny Strong recently confessed that Empire is actually based loosely on Tom Ford rapper Jay Z's life.

Sway In The Morning caught up with Strong, who said, "The Jay-Z story, which very much inspired Lucious Lyon, certain elements of Lucious Lyon, was that story. For me the story of people who have some sort of criminal past, or gangster past are not limited to black culture. ... Our goal is to tell a great story, and to do the best show we can.
