There have been endless rumors since the character of Hope exited The Bold and the Beautiful in December about who would bring the role back to the show, and in a surprise twist, it is none other than the actress who left it in the first place.

Is The Possible Hope Logan Recast Being Kept A Secret?

Kim Matula, who opted not to renew her contract with the soap at the end of 2014, officially returned to the soap's set to film scenes on March 4-but those hoping she would be permanently reprising the role shouldn't get too excited, as she is only set to make a guest appearance on the soap, and is not currently slated to an official full-time return to the role.

Matula shared her excitement to be back on set at the soap on her Instagram page the day she was shooting, showing herself in the Forrester Creations offices.

"Can anyone guess where I was today??? 1 sweet day of shooting at #boldandbeautifulcbs," she captioned the photos.

It is currently unclear what her character will be doing during her brief stint back on the canvas, though it could have something to do with her marriage to Wyatt (Darin Brooks). Following a miscarriage, Hope fled to Italy-and her husband's attempts to reconcile with her and get her to come home with him were unsuccessful.

If Hope is coming back to L.A. briefly, it could be to finalize the status of her relationship with Wyatt-meaning she could come home to sign divorce papers before heading back to Italy again.

No airdate has been given for Matula's episode, and it is unknown if a permanent replacement is still being sought for Matula.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs Monday-Friday at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
