He thought for sure that he was going to win back the woman he loved and get to have a family with her, but Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) will now need to find a new tactic to get Maxie (Kirsten Storms) away from Nathan (Ryan Paevy) on General Hospital.

Maxie Makes Her Choice

He quickly learned that his kiss with Maxie only strengthened her resolve to work things out with Nathan, meaning once again he has lost out on her-but he will refuse to give up trying.

Knowing that time apart has been part of what Nathan and Maxie have been struggling with, Spinelli may try to manipulate Nathan's partner, Dante, (Dominic Zamprogna) into luring him away from Maxie so the couple is still apart. And when news breaks that Luke (Anthony Geary) has already escaped from Shady Brook and could be on his way back to town to wreak more havoc, Spinelli could have the angle he was searching for.

"Shouldn't you call Detective West first and fill him in?" Spinelli asks Dante in a preview clip for the Tuesday, March 10 episode.

Of course, if Dante does fill Nathan in and he needs to now work all night in an effort to find Luke once again and get him behind bars and restrained, it certainly will upset the plans he and Maxie had for the night-which included spending the full amount of time together again for the first time in a long while.

"It's been way too long since we spent an entire night together," Maxie says to him in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
