They have both been fighting for Maxie's (Kirsten Storms) heart, and now, things may actually resort to a physical altercation between Nathan (Ryan Paevy) and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) on General Hospital.

The Battle For Maxie's Heart Continues

Since Spinelli came back to town with he and Maxie's daughter, Georgie, and confessed that he wanted Maxie back, things have been tense between him and her police detective beau. Not only have they clashed over Maxie, but the situation has put strain on her relationship with Nathan as well.

Now, after Maxie admitted to Nathan that she had feelings for both him and Spinelli, he wound up running into his enemy at the boxing gym, where he asked him to leave town so he and Maxie could finally work things out and she would no longer feel conflicted. Unfortunately for Nathan, Spinelli won't react well to his request-and the two will finally come to literal blows over her.

Spinelli Schemes To Break Up Maxie and Nathan

"I hereby challenge you to a duel!" Spinelli says in in a preview clip for the Thursday, March 19 episode.

While a duel may not be Spinelli's smartest move since Nathan could easily beat him, he does have a powerful ally in his corner-Sonny (Maurice Benard), and could use it to his advantage to try and win Maxie's heart for good.

And while the men try to battle it out, Maxie will continue to feel torn and confused by her feelings, forcing her to once again seek Lulu (Emmee Rylan) out for advice. However, when Lulu tells her to follow her heart, she will be forced to admit that she doesn't know who she actually wants to be with.

"What if my heart doesn't know?" she asks.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
