Although Kristin Cavallari became famous because of her reality hit MTV shows, "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills," she doesn't want her son going down the same path.

Cavallari gave birth to her and fiancé Chicago Bears' quarterback Jay Cutler's first child, Camden, on Aug. 8. And she takes her role as mom very seriously and does not want her son to go into reality TV.

"I'd try to steer him in another direction," the 25-year-old star told Life & Style magazine at the ULTA Beauty's Donate With a Kiss event in New York City on Oct. 2.

Her reasoning: "It can really mess up relationships and friendships. You have to have a thick skin and I wouldn't want him to. It put me through a lot of difficult times, and I wouldn't want to see Camden go through some of the similar things. There are a lot of great things that come from it and then also a lot of crap that you get from it as well."

Cavalleri also said she doesn't enjoy watching herself on the small screen. "I don't like watching any of them [Hills reruns]."

It's hard to believe, but Cavallari made her TV debut on "Laguna Beach," which first aired in 2004. In 2009, Cavallari joined the popular spin-off "The Hills" during the fifth and sixth seasons.

In the last two years, the new mom appeared as on many reality shows, including "RuPaul's Drag Race","America's Next Top Model" and most recently, as a guest judge on "Cupcake Wars." In 2011, Cavallari was a contestant on Season 13 of "Dancing With the Stars,"but was eliminated after the third week.

Tabloid reports claimed Cavallari had already lost all of the baby weight but the she said that is not the case. On Sept. 21, she tweeted, "I haven't lost all of my baby weight yet. That's sending the wrong message to women."

She told Life & Style magazine that she has struggled to drop the extra pounds. "Just like every other new mom out there, they know the weight just does not magically fall off. The truth is I am struggling to lose the last few pounds that I have but I am happy with my weight and I'm not going to kill myself for it."

She spoke to People magazine on Oct. 2 as well, and said the weight she lost has been a result of breastfeeding.

"I honestly can say I owe it all to breastfeeding. I read somewhere that it's like running six miles a day. I know nursing is difficult for a lot of moms so it's easier said than done. I eat healthy in general and I'm taking it easy in the gym and working out three to four days a week."

Cavallari admitted she is not ready to strut her stuff in a bikini just yet.

"I do want to tone up my stomach a little bit more. Trust me, if you saw me I'm not ready for a bikini, let's just put it that way," she said with a laugh. "I'm close, but I haven't [lost all the weight]."
