Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Charming (Josh Dallas) get two very different glimpses of Emma (Jennifer Morrison) on the next episode of ABC's Once Upon a Time.

Regina 'Tempted' To Embrace The 'Dark Side' Again on 'Once Upon a Time'

ABC has released a sneak peek of the next episode of Once Upon a Time, which is titled Best Laid Plans. The sneak peek features Snow and Charming in the Enchanted Forest hoping to get a glimpse at who Emma will grow to be.

"Snow, I know you're worried about Maleficent's protections," Charming says.

"Aren't you?" Snow replies. "If she's right our child could end up with a dark heart."

"Or it could grow to be a powerful hero, she said that too, and who's to say we can even trust her?" Charming notes.

The couple then proceeds to see into the future by touching the horn of a unicorn. Charming touches the horn first and he is suddenly taken to when Emma is just a baby, smiling away. He proudly holds her in his arms.

Charming returns to the Enchanted Forest happily, but Snow's glimpse at Emma's future is much more bleak.

When Snow touches the horn, she sees Emma as a teenager. Young Emma gives Snow a blank look and then proceeds to viciously rip her heart out. When Snow pleads that she is her mother, Emma curtly responds, "I don't care."

Snow returns to the Enchanted Forest and tells Charming of her horrible experience with future Emma.

This scene will likely explain why Snow decides to do what she does in order to ensure Emma has a good heart. However, Snow will be haunted by her decision for years to come.

Interestingly enough, the promo for next week's episode features present-day Emma telling Snow "I don't care" in a very blunt way as well.

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
