The Kids' Choice Awards 2015 occurred earlier tonight, March 28, and quite a few awkward moments arose as the slime-filled event moved along.

The most awkward moment was definitely when host Nick Jonas made a joke about the news that rocked the pop culture world earlier this week otherwise known as Zayn Malik's departure from One Direction.

The former Jonas Brother, kicked off the event with an awesome performance of his two hit songs, "Chains" and "Jealous," but then hit the crowd with the least funny joke imaginable.

"It was a tough week. A lot of girls are struggling after One Direction became Two Direction," he said.

The bad joke that came way too soon didn't end there though.

He also said 5 Seconds of Summer could turn into "3 Seconds of Summer" and Fifth Harmony could become "Fourth Harmony." Jonas even made fun of himself and his brothers, Joe and Kevin, when he said "The Jonas Brother."

At least he tried to make light of a otherwise lousy situation, right?

In second place, the host's brother Joe takes the cake for major awkwardness since he dressed up as "Grandma" and interrupted his younger brother's hosting duties to FaceTime with him.

"Hey everybody! Hey Nicky, I'm watching you live right now. I dyed my hair a shade of blue. You look so handsome, Nicky! More handsome than your brother, Kevin, but nowhere near as handsome as your brother Joe," "Grandma Jonas" said.

Coming in third with yet another awkward moment from the show is Adam Sandler sliming an unsuspecting Josh Gad after the two briefly discussed their upcoming movie Pixels.

A fourth awkward moment at the Kids' Choice Awards 2015 was when a poodle kind of stole the spotlight during Iggy Azalea and Jennifer Hudson's performance.
Why was a poodle part of the performance?
One more awkward moment that involves slime is when Shawn Mendes was in the middle of announcing the winner of Favorite Cartoon and he got slimed in the face. A fan on Twitter shared a video of all the slime action and Mendes shared a photo of the slime aftermath.
