Joran Van Der Sloot: Murderer Gets Girlfriend Leydi Figueroa Uceda Pregnant Behind Bars
Joran van der Sloot, the young man who robbed and murdered Stephany Flores in Peru in 2010 and was arrested twice for the disappearance of American tourist Natalee Holloway in Aruba, can add another title to his rapsheet- father.
According to De Telegraaf, van der Sloot reportedly told the Dutch newspaper the news by phoning from behind bars that he impregnated his girlfriend during prison visits.
The report revealed that his girlfriend, known only as "Leidi," got frisky with her convicted killer boyfriend through conjugal visits.
The couple reportedly had unsupervised heated sessions at Piedras Gordas Prison, where "Leidi" is listed as van der Sloot's girlfriend. The inmate receives visits only once or twice a month. Leidi reportedly met her man through a fellow cellmate.
Van der Sloot's lawyer did not confirm the newspaper's report that their client is with child.
Van der Sloot first made headlines in 2005 when he and two other men were arrested on suspicion for the disappearance of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway, an American tourist who disappeared in Aruba during her vacation on May 30, 2005.
Five years later on the exact same day of Hollaway's disappearance, a Peru native, Stephany Flores Ramirez, was murdered at a hotel room in Lima, Peru's capital.
Van der Sloot was named a prime suspect because the hotel room where her body was found was registered in his name and security cameras caught the Dutch citizen on tape with the 21-year-old at a poker tournament.
When van der Sloot fled Peru and was apprehended in Chile in June, 2010, he confessed to Flores' Ramierz' murder. He later retracted his statement with claims he was coerced by police but the judge in Peru ruled that the confession was legitimate.
In January, 2012, van der Slot was sentenced to 28 years in prison for the murder of Stephany Flores Ramirez.
However, his legal problems did not end there.
The 25-year-old was indicted in Alabama in June, 2010, for trying to extort money from Holloway's mother.
Holloway's mother gave van der Sloot $25,000, a downpayment he allegedly requested as a deposit towards a total sum of $250,000 in exchange for information related to the whereabouts of her daughter' body.
Van der Sloot gave false information in exchange for the payment. The money was allegedly used to fund the fateful trip to Peru that led to Flores Ramirez' murder.
If he is found guilty of extortion at an upcoming court date, he could be sentenced up to an additional 25 years in prison.
