Elizabeth Escalona, a mother who pleaded guilty to beating and torturing her 2 year old daughter, is facing a possible life sentence as her case comes for sentencing on Monday.

Escalona’s case has become infamous for the extreme methods of torture she used to punish her daughter for not potty training well. The prosecution has said that she beat her little girl before gluing her hands to a wall.

It has been claimed that Escalona physically beat her daughter so badly that she suffered significant brain trauma and bleeding inside her skull. The mother later called the grandmother to explain that there was something wrong with her daughter and that she wasn’t responsive. She was found with broken bones, bruises and was bleeding.

The 23 year old mother pleaded guilty to the charges against her. Following the mother's guilty plea on July 12, she was scheduled to appear before the court Monday to be sentenced. It has been reported that she could possibly face a life sentence for her crimes.

A doctor who testified in the court case also reportedly showed photos revealing the terrifying beating the young two year old had to ensure.

After being repeatedly hit and kicked on Sept. 7, 2011 the toddler was so injured that she fell into a coma for two days. Police records show that the two year old's siblings reported that their mother had repeatedly kicked the little girl in the stomach, as well as hit her in the stomach with a jug. After putting the two year old through a vicious beating the mother then glued the little girl's hands to a wall until they bled, according to reports.

Prosecutors have claimed that the severe beatings were handed out because the little girl was having problems with her potty training.
