Warner Horizon Television and Longmire's new home Netflix are providing charter buses for crew members to get to remote locations, according to Deadline this week. This is following the death of a crew member last year who fell asleep at the wheel after a 16-hour work day.

This is a very welcome development for many Longmire crew members.

"I've worked for the show for a long time," one crew member said. "The way I see it is that the producers saw a problem and stepped up and said this is what we're going to do immediately to fix it. When I saw it on the call sheet, I thought it's a great thing to do."

The crew member added, "We're in this business because we love it but the hours take a human toll and there's just got to be a better way to do it. And this is one of those ways."

Longmire is currently in production for its fourth season, with this being the show's first season through Netflix. The show was cancelled by their original network, A&E, due in part to relatively low ratings in the 18-49 demographic.

Despite trending low with the younger audience, Longmire was actually the highest-rated scripted show on the network overall, so it was an unwelcome surprise to many loyal fans. Netflix picked the show up a few months later.
