Police found an unidentified body in Arvada, Colo., and reports are suggesting that they may link it to the Jessica Ridgeway missing person's case, the 10-year -old that went missing last Friday just a few miles from where the cops have found the body, according to ABC News.

Police have not officially tied the crime scene at Pattridge Park in Arvada to the missing girl, the report added.

"The Arvada Police Department and Westminster Police Department are working jointly with additional resources to process that crime scene," Westminster, Colo., police investigator Trevor Materasso said on Wednesday evening, Oct. 10. "At this time, we're unable to make any connection to the disappearance of Jessica Ridgeway. That crime scene will exist through the evening and into tomorrow morning."

Ridgeway, a fifth grader with short blonde hair and red glasses, was reported missing last week, and her parents are referring to the disappearance as a likely abduction. Sarah Ridgeway told police she last saw Jessica on Friday morning when the girl left for school. However, Jessica never showed up to the park where she was supposed to meet her friends for the walk to her elementary school.

The area where the body was found is roughly seven miles from Jessica's home in Westminster and several miles south of where her backpack was found on Sunday, KUSA-TV reported. It is also being investigated whether Rideway's disappearance is at all linked to that of an 11-year-old girl lured into a SUV in Cody, Wyo., by a man who then released her four hours later.

Police carried out the body on a stretcher late Wednesday night.

ABC noted that three sources told them that investigators had reasons to believe the body found in Arvada is the body of 10-year-old Ridgeway, and that they were confident a positive identification would happen.

Materasso also stated that at this time, people have no suspects in the Rideway case.

"At this point in the investigation, after thoroughly looking at the parents, we're confident that they're not involved in the disappearance of Jessica Ridgeway," Materasso said earlier Wednesday. "The focus shifts to an unknown suspect, as we think that she was abducted."
