More shocking details have emerged about Hulk Hogan's sex tape scandal.

A new report revealed that the person responsible for shopping the sex tape is a former employee of Hogan's best friend, Bubba the Love Sponge.

According the report, when Bubba left his job at Sirius XM Radio, he left a disgruntled staff behind because of failure to pay employee wages. Allegedly, one unidentified radio show staff member was so upset, he decided to sell the sex tape as a means of revenge.

"It's a former employee of Bubba's who was outraged when he left Sirius to go back to terrestrial radio," an insider told Radar Online. "He wanted payback."

The source dispelled rumors that Bubba was responsible for leaking the humiliating film because he was too loyal to the professional wrestler.

"Bubba knew how much the Hulk sex tape would be worth, he didn't stab his friend in the back and he's not the one who released it," the source said."Bubba didn't secure the tape properly and showed it to a bunch of people. And that's why they're all in this mess now."

Hogan told TMZ on Oct. 9 that Bubba "adamantly denied" knowing about the sex tape and he told Bubba if he had anything to do with it, they were never friends to begin with then.

The insider then added another shocking allegation: Hogan knew that the sex tape was being shopped for several years. And Hogan had the opportunity to stop the selling of the tape sometime in 2011.

"Hulk acting all shocked at the release of the tape is crap," the source added. "The tape was first shopped about three years ago, and Hulk was initially blindsided by it. But he's been fully aware this whole time that it's out there."

TMZ was the first to report the news in early March.  At the time, Hogan's lawyer gave a statement to TMZ stating, "Terry Bollea is appalled at the unauthorized release of a secretly filmed video. ... [Hulk] neither approved of the filming nor the release of the same. It is clearly an outrageous invasion of privacy and breach of trust if it is genuine.

"We will take all necessary steps to enforce both civil and criminal liability."

Gawker obtained the 30-minute,17-second long video and posted a clip of it on their website on Oct.4. They reported that they received the footage the week before from an anonymous source and were not charged for it.

From the clip, many may assume that Bubba made the arrangement between his then wife, Heather Clem, and Hogan. He is seen chatting with them in the one-minute clip posted on Gawker before the pair get down and dirty.

"You guys do your thing. I'll be in the office if you need me," Bubba said. Once he left the room, Clem told Hogan, "We just f**ked earlier today." He then asked, "Who? You and Bubba?"  Clem responded with a laugh.

On Oct. 9 Hogan told Howard Stern that he's "devastated" over the internet posting of the sex tape, which was made six years ago. He shared that he is planning to sue Gawker for posting the X-rated footage.

His attorney, David Houston, told E! News,"We are in the process of reporting everything to law enforcement" and that he is planning on filing a federal civil suit in Tampa, Fla., against the site.
