Rumors circulate that Joe Giudice will be letting reality TV cameras into his home while his wife, Bravo's The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice, is behind bars -- but now the real reason for Joe signed on to do the spinoff has been revealed.

A source spoke on the matter earlier this week and made it clear that, "The last thing Joe wanted to do was a reality show, but it was really the only option because there's was no money coming in. With Joe still not working, just putting food on table was becoming very hard without handouts from their parents."

But of course a show with Joe along with his and Teresa's four daughters wasn't enough for Bravo to green light the series at first. He not only had to get permission from Teresa, she would have to be a part of the show as well.

"Producers insisted that phone calls with Teresa be included in the footage. The family will be required to talk to Teresa on speaker phone, as well as to share any email correspondence they have with her."

On top of that, cameras will follow them as they ride in the car to see her in prison. But that's where the line is drawn. They'll only be be able to go so far considering they won't actually be allowed in the prison.

Joe, Teresa and their daughters have yet to confirm or deny news of getting their own series. In the meantime, Bravo is currently casting for the seventh season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
