'Doctor Who' Season 9: Twelve & The Master To Be 'Friends'? Steven Moffat Teases Throwback To Classic 'Who'

The Twelfth Doctor emerged from "The Time of the Doctor" wondering if he was a hero or a villain, but the Gallifreyan will have a new outlook when the TARDIS lands back on the BBC this fall.

"As you saw in the finale and the Christmas episode he's kind of answered his question of 'Am I a good man?' and this year he's having the time of his life, having dangerous and exciting adventures in time and space," producer Brian Minchin told SFX (via Games Radar). "These are the glory days of the Doctor and Clara. They're having the biggest, most dangerous adventures they've ever had and they're having great fun doing it."

According to showrunner Steven Moffat, the Doctor will even have a little skip in his step.

"He's left some of the burden of being a superhero of the universe behind," Moffat told Doctor Who Magazine (via CNet). "So I'm pushing him -- I'm writing quite funny this year -- I'm pushing him the other way."
