Her decision to leave town is breaking his heart, but Brady (Eric Martsolf) will officially let Melanie (Molly Burnett) go as she says her goodbyes to both him and Salem on Days of Our Lives.  

Melanie Gives Brady An Answer To His Proposal

The two shared a quick and epic romance while she was back, which saw them help each other past major situation and problems--he saved her from the casino security officials she was running from when she came to town, and she helped him track down the son he didn't know he had with Theresa (Jen Lilley) because Kristen had stolen him.  

However, despite it all, and the fact that Brady proposed marriage to her, Melanie has decided to leave following Theresa's threats that her presence in Salem would cause problems for Brady when it came to his son.  

Theresa Comes Between Brady and Melanie

Theresa threatened Melanie that she would take Tate to California if Melanie stuck around, or if she herself remained in Salem, she wouldn't let Brady anywhere hear his little boy. And though she is absolutely in love with Brady and wants nothing more for herself than a life with him, Melanie will force herself to do what she feels is best and head back to Europe, so as to prevent Brady's son from growing up with a bad example of parenting.  

Now of course, the two lovers will be forced to share one last emotional goodbye before Melanie walks out the door and leaves the man she adores behind for good.  

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
