The New York Comic Con has announced that Brian K. Vaughan of Saga fame will be attending the biggest comic convention on the East Coast.

Brian K. Vaughan is the acclaimed writer of a number of comics, such as Y: The Last Man and Ex Machina, but it's perhaps Saga that he's most beloved for. Saga really is one of the finest comics of recent years, a fantasy and sci-fi hybrid that revolves around a pair of star-crossed lovers, almost literally. It's the story of Marko and Alana, two aliens from different planets at war who find each other and have a daugther. Their daughter narrates their journey as they seek to escape the war and find a place of their own. It's perhaps one of the best depictions of the fear of parenting that have been put to a comic page, full of wonderful space opera including terrifying assassins, a lie-detecting giant cat, and a race of aliens that have tvs in place of heads.

Sadly it looks as if artist Fiona Staples won't be attending the NYCC as well, although fans will no doubt be excited to get their copies autographed by Vaughan. If you're new to this wonderful series we may make a recommendation- the Deluxe Edition Hardcovers are the way to go here.
