The Miami Heat (3-1) will look to continue their winning ways when they host the Brooklyn Nets (1-1) at the American Airlines Arena. The Nets will look to change their hard luck as the Heat have defeated them in ten straight matchups. Although Miami's victory on Monday night wasn't as dramatic as Ray Allen's performance against the Denver Nuggets, they did topple the Phoenix Suns by a 124-99 margin to improve to 3-0 at home.

The defending NBA champions have been lights out on their own court, prevailing in 15 out of their last 17 home games, which includes last season's storybook playoff run.  After competing against Brooklyn, the team will hit the road for six straight games starting on Friday in Atlanta. They will play their next home game on Nov. 21 against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Despite their team's off-season improvements, Brooklyn will still have their work cut out for them against Miami. The Nets will be competing in their first away game since making the move from New Jersey to Brooklyn. They've lost six straight on the Heat's home court, which dates back to Feb. 1, 2008. To top it off, Lebron James himself has averaged 30.3 ppg in the past four games and has beaten the Brooklyn in his last 14 showdowns.

After being outscored 32-10 in the fourth quarter of Monday's loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Avery Johnson's team could be in for a long night on Wednesday against Miami's Big Three. The Nets led the game by 22 at one point in the second half.

According to Yahoo, Johnson gave his take on the team's disappointing loss.

"We relaxed defensively. We started trading baskets with them in the third quarter and never really could get stops," said Johnson.
