The ABC Family adaptation of Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series will kick off it's 2016 run with the events of City of Bones. The story centers on Clary (Katherine McNamara), a teen whose world is turned topsy-turvy when she discovers that she is not a mere mortal. Instead she is a nephilim (shadowhunter), a human/angel hybrid tasked with hunting down wayward demons.
Clary and viewers will both be confused about the teen's origins and her ties to the missing Mortal Cup, but the confusion won't last for long as Clary and Co. will quickly head to Bone City/Silent City for some answers.

"The City of Bones is visited during an early episode," Spoiler TV reported, adding that answers regarding the Cup will also quickly unravel thanks to a vampiric kidnapping. "Someone is held hostage by the vampires in an attempt to learn more about the Mortal Cup."
