The 2016 entry in its popular soccer sim will be the 20th anniversary of the series, reflected in the "Love The Past, Play The Future" tag line for the game. This year's edition will continue to offer the best modern features of the series, while adding improvements based on fan feedback.

What do those features include? The general gameplay engine has been overhauled (as expected with annual titles), including a better collision system, improved control over aerial battles, and improved fine control for tight maneuvers. Other upgrades include a dynamic weather system (it can start raining during a game), a revamped Master League mode, better ball physics and animations, and of course better visuals.

Konami is thrilled with the series' success over the years, and are determined to make the new entry a shining example of everything it has achieved.

"PES 2016 will be the best game in the series," explained Erik Bladinieres, European Brand Director of Football, Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. "This is solely due to the passionate feedback and support from our users and the community, which helped us get back to the core of what PES is. We truly believe with PES 2016 we will continue to celebrate the history of PES and everything it stands for, and create a new level of quality that has never been reached by any football game. Here's to another 20 years!"
