Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush) may not only be giving up her job anymore when season 3 of Chicago P.D. picks up again this fall.

Lindsay 'Spirals' Out Of Control

Following the emotional season 2 finale which saw the character quit the force after the death of a friend, the third season could see something else traumatic headed her way--a break-up with Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), after their off-screen counterparts ended their real-life romance.

Sources told Just Jared that Bush and Soffer ended their romance of about a year, though they are reportedly remaining friends.

"Sophia and Jesse just didn't work out," the source said. "They dated for about a year and then grew apart. They're still friends though!"

The couple initially managed to keep their romance quiet for a few months, though news did eventually spread.

"They've [Sophia and Jesse] been secretly dating for over three months, but only their close friends knew," a source told E! News at the time. "Jesse is super-sweet and they are really cute together."

Of course, if the former couple is still remaining close friends following the split, it won't likely affect their on-screen relationship.

This isn't the first time a relationship Bush had with a co-star ended while she still worked with him on-screen. Her marriage to One Tree Hill co-star Chad Michael Murray was annulled in 2006 after less than a year, though the two still worked side by side on the show until 2009, when Murray exited the series.

Bush also dated her other One Tree Hill co-stars James Lafferty and Austin Nichols, as well as Google Executive Dan Fredinburg, who died this past April in an avalanche that resulted from the earthquake in Nepal.
