In the second game of the 2013 World Baseball Classic qualifiers, Colombia will face off against Nicaragua at Rod Carew National Stadium in Panama City.

While the two countries will be dueling it out for a single spot in the WBC, the two managers will have some extra motivation to prevail in the game.  Ironically, Colombia manager Eduardo Perez and Nicaragua skipper Dennis Martinez were both recently brought on board to be the Houston Astros' bench and bullpen coaches respectively.

Similar to Thursday night's opener, the international battle will feature two young righties from MLB clubs.  Seattle Mariners prospect Erasmo Ramirez will take the hill for Nicaragua while Kansas City Royals minor leaguer Sugar Ray Marimon gets the start for the Colombians.

The 22-year-old Ramirez split time between Triple-A and the Mariners during the 2012 season posting a 1-3 mark along with a 3.36 ERA in 16 big league appearances (8 starts).

Marimon, 24, shuttled his time between the Royals' Advanced Class-A and Double-A affiliates in 2012.  Overall, he went 7-8 with a 3.34 ERA in 26 appearances (21 starts).  The youngster is currently Nicaragua's ace as the team wasn't able to garner approval for the services of Los Angeles Angels closer Ernesto Frieri, Chicago White Sox lefthander Erasmo Ramirez and Atlanta Braves right-hander Julio Teheran.

On Nov. 15, baseball fans witnessed a clear-cut upset as the underdog Brazil took out the host country favorite Panama by a 3-2 score.  The winner of the showdown between Nicaragua and Colombia  will advance to play the Brazilians at 2.p.m. ET on Saturday in the first elimination matchup of the qualifiers.
