Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux enjoyed a romantic evening out this week, but they weren't alone.

The couple was on hand with a slew of other A-listers to honor iconic comedic actor Ben Stiller at the 26th American Cinematheque Award Gala honoring Ben Stiller in Beverly Hills on Thursday.

Aniston, 43, and 41-year-old Theroux rubbed elbows with a handful of the gala's high profile attendees, including actress Laura Dern, who sat at their table for dinner.

The man of the evening, Ben Stiller, also approached Aniston and Theroux during dinner to chat. Aniston and Stiller became close on the set of their 2004 romantic comedy "Along Came Polly." Stiller hung around and talked with the newly engaged couple for about 15 minutes before Aniston was due on stage to begin the celebration for Stiller.

The actress introduced a video package of some of Stiller's most memorable on-screen moments, using some of her trademark humor in the process.

"His package is surprisingly large," she joked. "Very expansive, and its lasting power speaks for itself."

Other celebrities who lauded Stiller included Will Ferrell, Tom Cruise, Jack Black and Patton Oswalt.

Before the gala, E! News caught up with Stiller to get his take on the evening.

"I'm dreading it," Stiller said. It's going to be horrific, I'm sure. But it should be, hopefully, fun horrific. It's really nice to be asked to be honored like this. It's kind of bizarre. I feel grateful but also unworthy of the whole thing."

On the red carpet, black and white was the theme of the evening for Aniston and Theroux. The actress wore a floor-length black gown with white detailing in the bodice, accessorizing with a white handbag and the enormous engagement ring she got from Theroux, which has been estimated to be worth half a million dollars. Theroux matched his lady love in a crisp and classic black and white tuxedo.
