Doctor Who's Jenna Coleman isn't going anywhere, not if Peter Capaldi has anything to say about it.

'Doctor Who' Season 9 Spoilers: 'School Reunion' Villain To Return? Actor Teases Future Of Mr. Finch

Coleman almost said goodbye to Clara twice during season 8, but the actress kept fans - and writers - on their toes as she reconsidered her decision as recently as the 2014 Christmas special. Now that filming for season 9 is coming to a close, however, Clara's fate is up in the air once more.

So, will the school teacher ditch the TARDIS and settle down into a quite life?

"I hope not," Capaldi (Twelve) told Entertainment Weekly, explaining that Clara and Twelve have now realized that "they are the most fortunate people in all of time and space and are hellbent on adventure."

Capaldi believes his costar churned out some excellent performances for season 9, and it would be a shame if the series were deprived of her talent.

"Jenna continues to deliver a beautifully nuanced, complex, and funny performance that marks her out as one of the best companions ever," Capaldi said.

With San Diego Comic-Con right around the corner, an announcement regarding Clara's future may be just days away.
