The Vampire Diaries cast hit up San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend and spilled some possible details about the forthcoming Elena-less (Nina Dobrev) season.

Three New Vampires Are Heading To Mystic Falls For 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7?

Clevver News chatted with Paul Wesley, who portrays Stefan Salvatore on the supernatural series, all about what might come of his character's future with Candice Accola's character Caroline Forbes.

He believes they need to have sex while their humanity is turned on seeing as they've done the deed without humanity in season 6.

Caroline Plays A Role In Enzo's Decision Of Loyalty In Next Season Of 'The Vampire Diaries'?

"It would be cool for them to have sober [with humanity sex]," he shared.

Stefan at the end of the sixth season told Caroline he'd wait for her, but Wesley seems to have other ideas now.

For instance he'd like Stefan to "go on a bender" with his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder).

"Driving across the country doing some really questionable things," Wesley explained of the impending "bender."

He also revealed he will be directing once again this season.

While his theories of what's to come for Stefan and Caroline aren't totally likely, Accola was more on point.

Accola spoke of Caroline's plan to focus on herself by properly grieving over the loss of her mother and "get her life in order."

She noted that course of action "is very smart" since it's important to not feel "pressured to jump into a relationship" if you're not ready to do so.

In season 7 that might not be as easy as she thought it would be.

"We're going to see that's maybe proving to be a little bit difficult," Accola dished since just remaining friends with Stefan will be a challenge and moving on from her mother's death will also be a trying matter.

So perhaps Wesley's hypothetical in terms of Caroline and Stefan having sex again is a possibility if Caroline will struggle with them just being friends as she finds herself.

The series returns to The CW in the fall for season 7.
