The first trailer for FX's American Horror Story: Hotel has been released and while it doesn't feature any stars, it sets the mood quite perfectly.

'AHS' Star Denis O'Hare Has To Do 'Character Research' For His 'Hotel' Role

FX aired the first teaser for AHS: Hotel during Sunday night's season 2 premiere of The Strain. The teaser is in keeping with past AHS previews, in that it gives a general feeling of the season without showing any real footage.

The teaser features a bell resting on a table silently, when suddenly a silver hand with long fingernails comes from out of the frame to ring the bell. The hand then clangs its fingernails on the table, patiently waiting.

Matt Bomer Talks 'Spot-On' Lady Gaga Character In 'American Horror Story: Hotel'

It then cuts to Lady Gaga's name followed by the American Horror Story: Hotel title card.

In other American Horror Story news, there were some interesting morsels of information released out of Comic-Con on Sunday. Attending panelists at the AHS event included stars Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and Matt Bomer.

All of the stars revealed the names of their characters in American Horror Story: Hotel. Bomer will play Donovan, Peters will play Mr. March, Bates will play Iris, Bassett will play Ramona and most intriguing of all, Paulson will play "Hypodermic Sally."

AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy was also at the panel and said that each and every one of these characters will be villains.

"Actually everybody on this side of the table are bad boys and girls this year," he said, discussing all five AHS actors. "The fun thing about the show is I always want to write the opposite of the season before."

As for Gaga, Murphy said that she came to the show saying "I want to be evil" and Murphy replied, "OK, you came to the right place."

Though Gaga is well known for her singing prowess, don't expect there to be any big musical numbers this year. Murphy said he felt that he got that out of his system with AHS: Freak Show and said he's interested in doing the opposite of what he's done before.

Murphy also confirmed that previous AHS characters will be checking into the hotel this season. "It's part of a very connected universe with a very cool thesis statement at the end of the run," he said.

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres in October on FX.
