On Wednesday night, the 5-year-old, whose battle with cancer has been spotlighted by the NFL for the last year, was expected to accept the Jimmy V. Perseverance Award, but sadly, her doctors did not approve her travel plans.

"Headed out LA with the fam @ashaadore @kerwaa @itonestill," Still wrote on Instagram this morning, along with a photo that did not include his daughter. "We are short one princess but unfortunately the doctors didn't give her the ok because her immune system is still weak. She told me to hold it down for us on that stage so that's what I'm going to do! #LeahStrong #ImTheOnlyMorningPerson #MySisterBetterLeaveThoseDamnHandSignsBackHereInPhilly."

While Still's young daughter went into remission in late March, she is currently undergoing treatment to ensure her immune system is working properly. On Tuesday, ESPN claimed Leah returned home last month after a nearly 50-day stay in the hospital was extended due to complications.

"The Jimmy V. Perseverance award was named in honor Jim Valvano, the North Carolina State men's basketball coach who delivered a heart-tugging and emotional speech at the 1993 ESPYs award during his own fight with cancer," E! News reported of the award. "Valvano received the Arthur Ashe Courage award that evening."
