The 100 will throw you for a loop as season 3 begins.

'The 100' Season 3: Clarke Will Be 'Losing It' In The Premiere, Time Jump Teased At SDCC

The CW drama dropped a major bomb (literally) as its sophomore season came to a close, and soon the truth behind Alie the AI and her little nuke collection will come to light - and it won't be at all what you think (see video below).

"It won't be the story that you're probably anticipating and the nuke is probably not [there] why you think it's there," showrunner Jason Rothenberg teased at San Diego Comic-Con. "One of the things we like to do is sort of set up expectations at the end of the season and then kind of turn it on its ear. We're going to do that again."

Rothenberg says it's a "safe-ish assumption" to believe Alie was the mastermind behind the attacks 97 years ago, but the intricacies of the nuclear holocaust will be fleshed out as the season progresses.

"We're going to understand a lot more about the world and how the world got to be the way that it is," Rothenberg explained. "It's an origin story."
