The Baltimore Ravens (8-2) will take on the San Diego Chargers (4-6) in a matchup that heavily favors the latter on Sunday. However, after the outcome of events that transpired last season, overconfidence for the Ravens should no longer be a concern.

With retribution on their minds and the services of superstar safety Ed Reed available, the Ravens will look to pull out their fourth straight victory against a Chargers team that's on the verge of falling out of contention.

When the two football clubs faced off last season in San Diego on Dec. 18, Baltimore was sporting a 10-3 record with a four-game winning streak pushing toward an AFC North title. San Diego was 6-7 after re-emerging from six straight losses and still in contention in a weak AFC West.

Nonetheless, the Chargers ended up prevailing by a score of 34-14, courtesy of a strong Philip Rivers performance. The San Diego signal caller went 17 of 23 for 270 yards and a touchdown. To top it off, the Chargers scored on six of their first seven possessions. Rivers didn't throw a single pick and the only time he was sacked by the Ravens against him was reversed due to a personal foul on Terrell Suggs.

"It wasn't that pleasant. It was like raining touchdowns out there. He's a good quarterback," Suggs told ESPN.

In his last three starts versus Baltimore, Rivers has won twice going a combined 67 of 103 for 955 yards along with six touchdowns and three interceptions.

San Diego is currently sits on the brink of their first sub-.500 season since 2003, in which it went 4-12. The rumor mill continues to churn over coach Norv Turner's status if the team were to miss the playoffs for the third season in a row.
