There was an awkward moment at the 2015 Espys when Joel McHale cracked a joke about ex-couple Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn, causing one of them to open up on it.
When comedian Joel McHale started off the show with quirky comments, he happened to bring up Woods and his scandalous life.
"Jordan Spieth is having a big year. He's in Scotland hoping to win his third major championship. Many are calling Jordan Spieth the new Tiger Woods- which is great news for golf," McHale said via Hollywood Life.
That may have been hard enough, but the comedian decided to add one more joke:
"And terrible news for the future Mrs. Jordan Spieth."
This is when he realized that Vonn was there, making the situation pretty uncomfortable.
"Is Lindsey behind me right now?" McHale said. "She wasn't married to him. Is she mad? She's in front of me too. All right. Great."
Some might wonder how Vonn handled this situation and if she was offended in any way; when E! News caught up with her at the Kids' Choice Sports 2015, she was told that she was being a good sport about it.
Laughing it off, the skier said in Friday's report, "You can't take that stuff seriously. It is what it is. I don't take that stuff to heart."
Woods and Vonn called it quits in their relationship last May.
