As audiences await the arrival of the new film The Revenant, some may not have realized the risks of making this movie.

Is Tom Hardy Going To Star In A Movie Version Of A Popular Video Game?

On Friday, The Hollywood Reporter discovered that crew members who worked on the movie starring Leonardo Dicaprio and Tom Hardy went "to the outer edge of safety" to get a perfect shot during a freezing Canadian winter.

President of IATSE local 212 Damian Petti told the site that people working in movies like these need to realize where to draw the line when it comes to trying to make a scene look good.

"In terms of our industry, it's important that people differentiate between getting an amazing movie at all costs, and safety," Petti said.

The Revenant producer New Regency did, however, mention that no one was in any danger while shooting.

"While filming in challenging conditions, safety was not compromised," the statement reads.

Apparently, some of the workers involved with this film ended up quitting due to safety concerns.

"A lot of them were fired and some of them raised safety issues," Petti said.

New Regency knew there would be tough scenes to film, which is why they hired specialists.

"We hired experts who worked with us in swift-water, mountain-climbing, bear behavior, helicopter operations and cold-weather safety to complement the U.S. production management team," the company said.

Hardy nor anyone else involved with the film has responded to this report yet.

The Revenant is expected to hit theaters this December.
