According to reports from NorthJersey, the reality star couple reached a deal with prosecutors to serve less time in jail earlier this week. On March 4, Teresa and Joe appeared in front of U.S. District Judge Esther Salas in a crowded Newark N.J. courtroom.

There, they plead guilty to various charges of fraud and admitted their knowledge of connections with bank, wire, and mortgage fraud from 2001 to 2008.

Teresa and Joe Giudice Face Lessened Charges with New Plea Deal

On July 8, the couple will be sentenced. Allegedly, a source close to their Bravo producers revealed that they are being rushed to film as much as they can before their possible jail time.

According to TMZ, though the season will likely wrap before the two have to appear in court, the production company behind the hit Bravo show are scrambling to get as much as they can. The Giudices are said to be taping outside of the legal proceedings, as cameras are not allowed in court.

After the hearing yesterday, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman spoke to the crowd about what happened inside the hearing, as the couple rushed to their vehicle to avoid questions from the press. Fishman stated, "Teresa and Giuseppe Giudice used deception and fraud to cheat banks, bankruptcy court and the IRS."

He continued, "Having now confessed their wrongdoing, the Giudices face the real cost of their criminal conduct."

Now, the public will have to wait to find out how much time each person will face. NorthJersey reports that with the plea deal on the table, Teresa is facing 21 to 27 months and Joe is facing a minimum of three years in prison. Because he is not a U.S. citizen, he could be deported as well.
