Longmire's first season on Netflix will not be drastically different from the show's first three seasons.

While Netflix has fewer restrictions on violence and profanity than A&E, fans should not expect the show to change its overall feeling.

Longmire executive producer Greer Shephard appeared at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour this week where he said that it will still be the same old show that fans know and love.

"We did not want to alienate the amazing audience who were responsible for our survival...We're at a company that values viewers over demos, and we're benefiting from that," he said.

Asked about the overall theme for season 4, Shephard simply said, "Second chances."

This is doubly true of the show itself, which was given a second chance by Netflix last November. The beloved Western drama was cancelled by A&E after three seasons despite being the highest rated show on the network. However, the show failed to deliver a high enough younger demographic for advertisers, which is reportedly why they pulled the plug.

Fans launched an epic Twitter campaign for several months last year until Netflix finally swooped in and picked it up in November. The streaming site ordered 10 new episodes to be released on their platform in 2015, and now we are within weeks of the season 4 release.

Longmire season 4 is set to be released on Netflix on Thursday, Sept. 10. All 10 episodes will be released at once.
