HBO released a teaser preview of a documentary about Beyonce's life, giving fans a first look at the footage that is set to air on television in February.

The Houston native struck a deal with HBO to air a documentary she directed, produced and filmed about her life. The cable network released a 25-second preview trailer for the untitled film to give her fans a sneak peek of what to expect. In the footage, the "Love On Top" singer is on stage and her voiceover states, "I always battle with how much do I reveal about myself... If I'm scared, be scared... allow it... release it."

Enstarz reported the multi-Grammy winner's deal with the award-winning cable network last week. The "Dreamgirls" actress said in an announcement why she chose the channel known for recent hits such as "Boardwalk Empire," "Girls" and "The Newsroom."

"HBO has a history of pushing every boundary with class and authenticity," said Beyonce in a statement. "Some of my favorite shows are on HBO, so I am excited that my film will be part of its bold programming. This film was so personal to me, it had to have the right home."

The as-of-yet untitled film focuses on Beyonce's childhood in Houston, her career, and her private life with husband Jay-Z and their baby Blue Ivy.

The film "sheds light on her childhood in Houston, with home movies revealing the close bond she built with her family and charts the challenges Beyoncé felt when she decided to manage her career and build her own company, Parkwood Entertainment," HBO said in a statement. "It also captures the intense physical and emotional demands she goes through in the studio, preparing for live performances, running a business and her family life, including her return to the spotlight after the birth of her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, in January 2012."

The HBO documentary debuts on Feb. 16, 2013.

Beyonce will perform the halftime show at the Super Bowl XLVII two weeks prior on Feb. 3, 2013. The NFL's biggest game of the season will be held in New Orleans at the Mercedez-Benz Superdome.
