Starbucks $450 Gift Card Debuts: Stainless Steel Limited Edition Card to Go on Sale Dec. 7
Starbucks announced it will offer a $450 Starbucks card made of steel.
The card costs $50 and has $400 in store credit. Starbucks said costumers can purchase it on luxury goods website Gilt.com.
By purchasing the card, Starbucks will give cardholders Gold card membership benefits which include a free drink or food reward on your Birthday, a free drink or a free food item after the purchase of 12 drinks and free refills of brewed and iced coffee and tea.
"Some stores will never even see this card," Ryan Records, vice president of card and payments at Starbucks told USA Today.
The card will start selling at noon Friday and will be limited to 5,000 cards, according to the Asociated Press.
Starbucks' announcement comes after the coffee chain announced it will sell a cup of coffee for $7. The chain boasts that the "Costa Rica Finca Palmilera" coffee is a rare coffee and it will only sell it in stores in Seattle and Portland, Ore.
