As the public grieved over celebrity breakups like Ben and Jen, and Gwen and Gavin, nothing broke a heart like Kermit and Miss Piggy.

The Muppets Are Returning To Television

After it was announced on Tuesday that the iconic Muppet couple ended their relationship after nearly 40 years, Kermit the Frog sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss how he's been doing.

Posted on Wednesday, Kermit gave the impression that as it hard as it may have been, he's been doing okay since he and his longtime lover called it quits.

Twitter Reacts To 'Muppets Most Wanted'

"Well, you know, it's not all bad," he said. "In fact it's fine. We're both working professionals. It's an interesting thing that happens sometimes, you know. You're with someone for years and you suddenly discover that you sort of have gone in two different directions. And when you're a frog and a pig...those directions can be extreme."

Kermit is actually dating someone else now- in fact, she's a pig named Denise who does marketing for ABC.

"I'm very happy about that," the frog said about his new lover. "I don't often mention her in interviews because she's not a celebrity. I don't want to bring her into the limelight."

Kermit's then revealed what it is he likes so much about pigs- it's that curly tail.

"It's fascinating," he said. "I don't know why it makes a difference to frogs, but it's pretty cool."

Despite the fact that they're Muppets, clearly they still have feelings.
