Grumpy Mall Santa Fired After Parents and Children Complain of Rude Santa
There's nothing worse than a grinch who steals the hearts of Christmas from a young one. A grumpy Santa has been fired from a mall in Maine after children complained that he was grumpy and mean.
Parents and children complained that the Santa was rude, with some saying that he refused to let children sit on his lap.
Now the mall, based in South Portland, Maine, is currently seeking a new jolly Santa who will make the Christmas experience magical for the youngsters.
Mall officials said they hope the new Santa will be able to start before this weekend.
According to AP, one parent, Jessica Mailhiot, complained after she took her six year old daughter to see Santa at the mall. However, Santa refused to let her sit on his lap after they refused to buy the $20 memento photos. She had asked Santa for an "American Girl Doll" but instead was told that she would be receiving an "American Football."
The mother, who was upset Santa's behavior and rudeness, posted her complaints online, which sparked a series of complaints from other customers alike who unfortunately did not have a good experience themselves.
There has been no comment from the fired Santa.
Santa's grottos are a commonplace in malls during the festive season and many parents take their children annually to experience the magic.
